The Member Engagement Platform (MEP) team is Zulily’s primary communication channel with the customers. Last year, we sent over 10 billion emails, mobile push notifications, Facebook messages and launched our SMS channel. For 2021, our goal is to expand our use of Machine Learning to personalize the content, schedule and channel execution of every single communication so we can give each individual customer the best and most timely information pertinent to her shopping needs. Our vision is to build a cross channel marketing orchestration platform that’s optimized for each individual customer.
Our team builds cool and fun ways to reach out to our customers on many different channels. We are looking for a strong backend Software Engineer to help build the next communication platform that will leverage ML to optimize channel-based customer notification.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field; Master's Degree preferred

Strong coding skills in Java

Strong knowledge of the following technologies: MongoDB or equivalent, MySQL or equivalent, EMR/Hadoop.

Hands-on experience with Cloud (AWS preferred, Azure or Google Cloud ok)

A burning desire to build products that solve big problems.

Easygoing personality.

2+ years’ experience in software development

Proficiency in Systems Design

Experience with high-scale services
