We are excited to announce a new internship opportunity where the Scenic Production Intern will have a unique learning experience that entails working with both the Scenic and Scene Shop departments and all that they offer in a broadcasting environment.

Who We Are

The QVC Scenic Production department is comprised of two departments that are responsible for the final look of how the studios sets are presented. Scenic Styling is a team of set stylists that props, decorates and furnishes all of the on-air sets in QVC’s main broadcasting headquarters in West Chester Pennsylvania and the Scene shop is a team of Production Artisans that construct all of the sets as well as various furniture and props.

Your Impact

Sets & Props:

  • Daily walkthroughs at the beginning and end of your shift.

  • Checking program guide, Quintiq, Studio Grid, PALs for the day ahead.

  • Asset Maintenance (eg: furniture polishing, scuff fixing, leg tightening, etc.).

  • Assisting live team with daily programming scenic needs.

  • Partnering with Stylists on a section of asset storage spaces.

  • Christmas in July prep and maintenance as required.

  • Meetings as scheduled including 1:1s, team meetings, etc.

Scene Shop:

  • Set walk throughs for touch up needs.

  • Sell table touch up / Set wall hole filling.

  • Learning how to: construct basic flats for set walls, small prop building, AutoCAD drafting, vinyl cutting and application, CNC routing and design and 3d printing.

What You Bring

  • Must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university.

  • QVC will consider students who have completed at least four semesters of college in the following majors: Business Administration, Business Management, Operations, International Business, Marketing, Communications, and Merchandising.

  • Experience in the following preferred: A general understanding of broadcasting and scenic styling knowledge, basic computer operating skills and a basic understanding of set construction.

  • Excellent verbal, written and telephonic communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Good organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
